Dua for Increasing Knowledge
Ask Allah to grant you greater knowledge and understanding.
رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Rabbi zidnī ʻilmā.
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
Dua for Beneficial Knowledge
Supplicate for knowledge that is beneficial and useful, as the Prophet ﷺ would often do.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا
Allāhumma innī as’aluka ʻilman nāfiʻan.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge.
Dua for Useful Knowledge, Good Provision, and Accepted Deeds
This dua is praised for asking Allah not only for knowledge but also for goodness in provision and deeds.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
Allāhumma innī as’aluka ʻilman nāfiʻan, wa rizqan ṭayyiban, wa ʻamalan mutaqabbalan.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds.
Dua for Protection from Useless Knowledge
The Prophet ﷺ sought protection from knowledge that does not benefit and from an unheeding heart.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ، وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min ‘ilmin lā yanfa‘, wa min qalbin lā yakhsha‘.
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit, and from a heart that does not humble itself.
