Dua When Looking in the Mirror
This dua is taught by the Prophet ﷺ for when you look in a mirror, asking Allah for beauty in both appearance and character.
اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا أَحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي
Allāhumma kamā aḥsanta khalqī faḥassin khuluqī.
O Allah, just as You have made my external features beautiful, make my character beautiful as well.
Dua for Gratitude over Your Creation
This Quranic dua expresses gratitude and acknowledges that Allah is the best of creators. It is relevant when reflecting on your own creation.
فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ
Fatabāraka -llāhu aḥsanu al-khāliqīn.
So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.
Praise Allah for Your Appearance
Thank Allah for your body and features when you look at yourself, as the Prophet ﷺ consistently did upon seeing blessings.
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي سَوَّانِي فَأَحْسَنَ صُورَتِي
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī sawwānī fa-aḥsana ṣūratī.
All praise is for Allah who shaped me and made my form good.
Dua for Protection from Pride
Asking Allah to keep you humble and grateful for your looks when seeing your reflection, seeking refuge from arrogance.
اللهم إني أعوذ بك من منكرات الأخلاق والأعمال والأهواء
Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min munkarāti al-akhlaq wa al-aʿmāl wa al-ahwā’
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from undesirable manners, deeds, and aspirations.
