Dua for Pain Relief by Touching the Painful Area

This dua is recommended when experiencing physical pain, placing your hand over the affected area and seeking Allah’s help.

ARABIC

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ ×3، أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ ×7

Transliteration

Bismillāh, bismillāh, bismillāh, a‘ūdhu bi-‘izzatillāhi wa qudratihi min sharri mā ajidu wa uhādhir.

TRANSLATION

In the name of Allah (say it x3). I seek refuge in Allah’s might and power from the evil of what I feel and fear (say it x7)

Dua of Prophet Ayyub (Job) During Hardship

This supplication was made by Prophet Ayyub (Job) when he was afflicted with severe pain and hardship.

ARABIC

أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Transliteration

Annī massaniya adh-durru wa anta arhamu ar-rāḥimīn.

TRANSLATION

Indeed, harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

Dua for Seeking Removal of Harm

This dua is for seeking Allah’s help in removing harm or distress from your body or mind.

ARABIC

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا

Transliteration

Allāhumma rabba an-nāsi, adhhib al-ba’sa, ishfi anta ash-shāfī, lā shifā’a illā shifā’uka, shifā’an lā yughadiru saqaman.

TRANSLATION

O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and cure (me), for You are the Curer. There is no cure except Yours, a cure that leaves no illness behind.

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Hasbunallāhu wa ni‘ma al-wakīl.

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.
