Dua When Beginning Your Car Journey
This is the recommended dua to recite when starting any journey, including by car, to seek Allah’s mercy and safety.
Subḥāna alladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinin wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn.
Glory is to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have done it, and surely to our Lord we will return.

Bismillāh, tawakkaltu 'alā Allāh, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor might except with Allah.
Dua for Protection During the Journey
This dua asks Allah for safety, righteousness, and good outcomes on your travel by car or any other means.
Allāhumma innā nas’aluka fī safarinā hādhā al-birra wat-taqwā, wamina al-‘amali mā tarda. Allāhumma hawwin ‘alaynā safaranā hādhā waṭwi ‘annā bu‘dah. Allāhumma anta aṣ-ṣāḥibu fī as-safar, wal-khalīfatu fī al-ahl.
O Allah! We ask You for righteousness and piety in this journey of ours, and for action that pleases You. O Allah! Make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah! You are the Companion on the journey, and the Successor (Protector) over the family.

We are returning with repentance and worshipping and praising our Lord.
