The best dua for Arafah

This is the most recommended dua for Arafah, as taught by the Prophet ﷺ about the best supplication he and prior prophets made.

ARABIC

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Transliteration

Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahū lā sharīka lah, lahu-l-mulku wa lahu-l-ḥamdu wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr.

TRANSLATION

There is no god except Allah alone, He has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He has power over all things.

Dua for forgiveness

Surah Al-A'raf (7:23)

Seek forgiveness and mercy, as the Day of Arafah is known for Allah freeing people from the Fire.

ARABIC

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Transliteration

Rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa in lam taghfir lanā wa tarḥamnā lanakūnanna mina-l-khāsirīn.

TRANSLATION

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

Asking for goodness in this life and Hereafter

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:201)

ARABIC

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Transliteration

Rabbanā ātinā fi-d-dunyā ḥasanah wa fi-l-ākhirati ḥasanah waqinā ‘adhāba-n-nār.

TRANSLATION

Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.

Surah Al-Mu'minun (23:118)

ARABIC

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Rabbi’ghfir warḥam wa anta khayru-r-rāḥimīn.

My Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of the merciful.
