Dua When Entering the Masjid
This is the main dua taught by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to recite upon entering any masjid, seeking Allah's mercy.
اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
Allahumma iftah li abwāba raḥmatik
O Allah, open the gates of Your mercy for me.
Seeking Protection from the Devil When Entering Masjid
This dua, paired with the main entering dua, seeks Allah’s protection from Shaytan as you enter the masjid.
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِوَجْهِهِ الْكَرِيمِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَدِيمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
A‘ūdhu billāhil-‘aẓīm wa biwajhihil-karīm wa sulṭānihil-qadīm minash-shayṭānir-rajīm
I seek refuge with Allah the Mighty, and His Noble Face, and His Eternal Authority, from the accursed devil.
Entering the Masjid with the Right Foot
Before reciting the main dua, it is Sunnah to enter the masjid with your right foot and to recite the name of Allah.
بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ
Bismillah
In the name of Allah.
It is recommended to ask Allah to send peace and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) when entering the masjid.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ
Allahumma ṣalli ʿalā Muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad.
