Dua of Adam (PBUH) for forgiveness
Make this dua when seeking sincere forgiveness for past mistakes or sins, just as Prophet Adam did.
Rabbanaa ẓalamnaa anfusanaa wa illam taghfir lanaa wa tarḥamnaa lanakūnanna mina al-khāsirīn
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.
Dua taught by the Prophet ﷺ for major forgiveness
Recite this dua asking Allah for a thorough and wide-ranging forgiveness of all your sins.
Allāhumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuḥibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘annī
O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me.
Rabbi’ghfir lī warḥamnī watub ‘alayya innaka anta at-Tawwābu ar-Raḥīm
My Lord, forgive me, have mercy on me, and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.
Recite this dua to ask Allah’s forgiveness for yourself and your parents, showing mercy to both.
Rabbi’ghfir lī waliwālidayya walil-mu’minīna yawma yaqūmu al-ḥisāb
My Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the account is established.
