Dua When Leaving Home
Recite this dua every time you step out to seek Allah’s protection and guidance against difficulties and evil.
بِسْمِ اللهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
Bismillāhi, tawakkaltu ‘alā Allah, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
In the Name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah.
For Seeking Protection from Harm
Say this short dua as you leave to ask Allah for protection from misguidance and harm along the way.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ، أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أُزَلَّ، أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ، أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika an aḍilla aw uḍalla, aw azilla aw uzalla, aw aẓlima aw uẓlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayya.
O Allah, I seek refuge with You lest I stray or be led astray, slip or be made to slip, do wrong or have wrong done to me, or behave foolishly or be treated foolishly.
Dua for Guidance and Steadfastness
Ask Allah for uprightness and guidance as you go about your day outside your home.
رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَلْ لِّي مِنْ لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا نَّصِيرًا
Rabbi adkhilnī mudkhala ṣidqin wa akhrijnī mukhraja ṣidqin waj‘al lī milladunka sulṭānan naṣīrā.
My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority.

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana ātinā fī d-dunyā ḥasanah wa fī l-ākhirati ḥasanah waqinā ‘adhāba n-nār.
Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
