Dua When Wearing New Clothes
Recite this dua when putting on new clothes to thank Allah for His blessings and ask for goodness in what you wear.
Allāhumma laka al-ḥamdu anta kasawtanīhi, as’aluka min khayrihi wa khayri mā ṣuniʿa lahu, wa aʿūdhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri mā ṣuniʿa lahu.
O Allah, all praise is for You. You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for.
Gratitude for Being Clothed
Use this dua to thank Allah for granting you clothing, which He also provides for all His creation.
Al-ḥamdu lillāhi alladhī kasānī hādhā al-rizq wa manna ‘alayya bihi min ghayri ḥawlin minnī wa lā quwwah.
Praise be to Allah who has provided me with this clothing and blessed me with it, though I had no power or might.
Dua to be thankful
Dua in the Quran from Sulaiman (AS), asking Allah to make him a grateful servant.
Rabbi awzi'nee an ashkura ni'mata kal lateee an'amta 'alaiya wa 'alaa waalidaiya wa an a'mala saalihan tardaahu wa adkhilnee birahmatika fee 'ibaadikas saaliheen
My Lord! Inspire me to ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You have blessed me and my parents with, and to do good deeds that please you. Admit me, by Your mercy, into ˹the company of˺ Your righteous servants.
Dua praising Allah.
Say this to be grateful to Allah for the blessings that He has bestowed upon you.
SubhanAllah wabihamdih a'dada khalqih warida nafsih wazinat a'rshih wamidad kalimatih
Glory be to Allah, and I begin with praise of Him to the number of His creatures, in accordance with His good pleasure, to the weight of His throne and to the ink (extent) of His words.
